The potted history that comes with the Sevans kit mentions
that the original hemis were laid up in fibreglass using
'lagoon blue' pigment (if I remember correctly). Plasticote
do a colour called 'blue lagoon' which is what I used for my
hemis. Like Periwinkle, it's too light for the later daleks,
but it's not bad for the early ones.

IMHO, I do think that Plasticotes "Periwinkle" blue looks
pretty darn amazing against Silver, and looks great when
working on a Mk 1. For later 60's builds, Periwinkle is far
too light in colour though.
Color Julian/Fozzy says:Rhodium Silver is the colour listed as
being used on the first series Daleks, but to be very honest
comparing it to the photographs of the studio props reveals
that they are not quite the same colour as the modern version
of Rhodium Silver.....
I suspect that Jaguar have kept the name but that since the
1960's the paint formulation will have changed significantly.
This will mostly be due to modern metalic particles being
different as well as the suspending material being different.
Without an actual paint sample match from an original Dalek
it's probably the closest you're going to get to the correct
colour.
The other colour listed is the Jaguar Light Blue.... That's
also on that paint chart....
Color some member's have suggested using Woolworth's silver and
gold CoverPlus spray paint
Color one possible modern paint clor for hemispheres as seen in The
Daleks would be in Holts Duplicolour range - LF74 Ford
Olympic Blue

Color Stuart and Dave M say that the original blue perspex color of
the eye rings is closely matched today by Ford Light Blue
which was used on some fleet cars, and Toyota British Gas Van
Blue, which is a match for Dulux Blue Babe.

Hi there,
Can I ask if anyone has any bright ideas for matching Halfords car paint aerosols to the hemi blue of Chase/Masterplan - or what the latest received wisdom on the subject is?
I've seen Ford Olympic Blue quoted for The Daleks/Invasion and Ford Blaze Blue for Power/Evil, but what about the blue in between?
Any comments or directions to relevant info greatly appreciated.
